Sorry to take so long... but movingcan be a full time job

We still do not have everything out of the old place, but that is to happen this coming weekend, baring any unforeseen events. Last weekend there were to many. for one we just had to get the chicken coop finished so the chickens would be very safe at night, wait I still need pictures of it. I will do it now. well, now that I am waiting for it to all load onto the computer we can talk about other things.
Over this last weekend we though we had lost the two momma hens while protecting there babies, but in all they were protecting there babies. We stepped in and took the babies to a safer location for the night once I could not find either momma. We put them in a dog kennel at about 2 am and then in the shop for the rest of the night. The next morning there was both momma looking for there babies. Now only one of the momma is with the babies. the other decide it was time they were on there own. This was the big reason for the coop getting finished this weekend, we were seeing raccoons.
Now for all the photos that I have:

The chickens do get to run free in the evening so they can catch bug and play in all my flower beds, that need work any ways. I look at it this way, they are helping me turn the soil, adding nutrition to the soil and helping me weed. Right now I have way to many roosters(9) and am having a hard time deciding which ones that I am going to keep, most likely none of the ones that are gang raping my hens right now. I have one that I know for sure was Luckies so it should have the green egg gene. Mamma and the 9 babies just stay in the shop at night for now. Yes I am going to have to clean the floor soon, but it is much better than losing any more of the babies to a raccoon or something else. Yes I have lost 2 of the babies since being here.

I still have a lot of work to do inside and out and will post as I get stuff done. Please let me know what you think of my house in comments. I would love to hear.

almost done moving

Monday, May 21, 2012
We are moved in but I still have a lot to get done. We had to do all the moving alone, just the two of us,s o it has been a long 5 days. Today we spent it shopping and with my daughter and her two kids. I will post much more in a few day after I get everything in order.
The chicken are doing good with having smaller quarters and that. It is only temporary, till they know where they are. We have cornered off a corner of my husbands shop for them at night and we are going to build it in to a coop before winter gets here. The older one did not even skip a day on the egg laying, but them we did move them at night. Momma and the babies are all over the place for I had to separate them from all the rest since ALL the chickens are in one place now. I really have to get rid of some roosters I have way to many, yet they are not big enough to butcher yet.

The move is here

Tuesday, May 15, 2012
We are going to be moving over the next few days. I will not have internet for a week or so. I have a lot to move. Tomorrow we are going to be working on the Chicken coop. I will post before and after pictures after I get my internet back up and going. The renters that had lived there before the owner decided to sell had dogs int eh pen so there is a lot of cleaning to be done to the coop. Thursday we are going to be moving the big stuff and I hope the chickens to there new digs. I will also be inter grading all my chickens into one pen. I am going to keep Buckbeck(crooked beak) and 3 or 4 others separate since Buckbeck is so much smaller that being in a pen with 20+ others chickens would not be good for her. I did sell like 15 of my chickens yesterday and I could still get rid some roosters, but I think that I could use them as pest control for the yard.
The good thing about the new place is that I have one room that all I have to do is get two rugs and it is all done, and that is my master bathroom. I will take a lot of pictures after I get there.
We are going to be close to places to go fishing so I am going to be doing more fishing. I also have a lot of landscape work to get done. There is a lot to get done.

Set back on the house

Wednesday, May 9, 2012
I was hoping that we were going to be closing on the new house on the 10th, which would have been early, but there was a set back. One of the window that we ask be replace go broke while it was being installed so now we have to wait for a new one to be ordered. Closing was original set for the 18th so I guess that is when we are going to be closing, maybe even later. It all depends on when that window gets put in now. I really can not wait to get moved.
I have started to make pillows and coaster for the new house. I am going for a country look to the house so I feel that if it is homemade it is more country than if you buy something. We did buy a new couch with duel recliners, two swivel rocker recliners and two end tables for the new place. I know there is going to be a lot more that I am going to want to get, but that is going to have to wait till late.
I still have to many chickens now that I have 68.  I know that at least 10 to 12 are sold and that I have 10 to 12 roosters that I am just going to have to get rid of. I did want to keep them for the freezer but I am not going to move that many just to put in the freeze in 2 to 3 months when they would be ready for the freezer. I have 5 or 6 that will be ready next month.
